As you can figure out, there are too many printer models available
and its hard to say ...

Apsfilters SETUP contains for that reason the possibility, to easily
switch the printer model and giving you the possibility to print a
test page ...

If it fails, try another model.

Maybe you should try the hpdj generic model since that driver tries
to produce pure pcl3. But be careful when modifying gs options for
that driver, in production use (via -C option), since unkknown
printer model has no sanity check for the various print options of
the hpdj driver.
