This definitively would speed-up things ... You only have to add more printer types in the printers file that is read my SETUP on startup ... Then perhaps check, if for using the stp drivers special commandline options are necessary. If yes do changes in SETUP and apsfilter. Then check, if drivers have interesting options for the "CLASS" (lpr -C) feature ...
