  What tells it it's the default? I compiled both gs, gs_fonts as well as
the new apsfilter to install based on /usr rather then /usr/local when I
installed. It finds gs without any problem, I can only assume it's finding
the fonts without a problem. Yet I receive that error as well:

    Last OS error: Unrecoverable error: typecheck in Unrecoverable
    error: typecheck in Unrecoverable error: typecheck in ...

maybe the above will fix mine if I can find it. I tried a symlink of
/usr/local/share pointing to /usr/share temporarily, same results though.
