I don't remember exactly if this was a hardware / configuration
or FreeBSD driver problem (with your hardware).
Check, if you don't have overlapping IRQs.
Then perhaps try to configure the LPT port from interrup to
"polling" mode:
lptcontrol -i | -p | -e | -s [-d device]
-i Turn on interrupt-driven mode.
-p Turn on polled mode.
Then check the FreeBSD mailing list archive on "stray irq 7"
