Correct. I've tried that and now it spits out a blank page and the job
still remains wedged in the queue.

I use the standard Berkeley LPR. Anyway, I'm sick of this bloody
printer now, it's expensive to run and it's always temperamental, so
I've just ordered a postscript printer (Lexmark E312). I guess I've
had 8yrs odd out of this Epson so it doesn't owe me much.
