If I remember right a2ps doesn't do it correctly all the time ...

Not necessary anymore, upgrade or read about the -C or -Z (LPRng)
options.

lpr -C ascii file.xxx should do the trick.
See the online manual ....

Well, whats your situation ? Apsfilter currently does nearly
everything what a user needs ... can you clarify ?

Well currently it can't drive a car ;-)

BTW You should be more specific concerning errors, etc ....
Otherwise we can't figure out ...
