APSFilter, HP Deskjet 670 prints black splotches on full page image

I'm using APSFilter that comes with Slackware-current, and every time I 
print a full-color image scaled to full page, I get black splotches all 
over the place.  I'm using the cdj670 driver with GNU Ghostscript 5.5 
with APSFilter.  The test image I'm using is here (now now, no comments 
on taste, I chose it for color testing since I work in a similar genre 
of artwork):
