I can't get my Epson 777 to work

I seem to be having trouble getting my Epson 777 to work with your
apsfilter. It works when I send the codes to windows on another machine, but
not in Linux the OS I wish to use. Linux recognises the printer port and if
I connect my old printer to the port it works fine. I can send plain text to
the port directly and my old printer will print it out. However I can't even
get this with the epson printer. Not even the test page works with this
printer. You have an option for the Epson 777 in the apsfilter so I assume
that your software can support it.

Here is what I have done to try to get this thing to work. The origninal
ghostscript package in redhat didn't work so I went to the ghostscript 7.00
website and also to the gimp-print website and downloaded the source
code of these two packages. I've compiled ghostscript with the stp driver
and installed ghostscript on my machine. The only thing I can think of is to
try and use the uniprint driver, but I haven't got a clue how that is done.

Could you please give me some suggestions on how I can get this thing
working. I've been trying to get this printer to work for a week now with
little or no success.
