I think one of his problems may be that apsfilter doesn't give any of those choices. Many of the newer HP's use pcl, although some use another HP driver. These are typically compiled into ghostscript. If a recent version of apsfilter is run, it will note which filter is needed (in parenthesis next to the printer name). If that driver is not installed in ghostscript, it needs to be patched in. The patch is simple to do. HP is a peculiar bird and needs special treatment. RBE
