Epson 860 tests fine, won't print under KDE

I ran through the setup, got everything working, printed a test page fine, 
but I can't get anything under KDE to print.  Not even to the lp.  The 
printer does show up under the list of options, and if I open up a console, I 
can get more apsfilter test pages to print out, but nothing using any of the 
standard GUI progs.  I'm not even sure how to do it using the non-gui 
(although I could probably figure it out easily enough).  Anyway, I'm sure 
its some little setting in some config file somewhere, but I've no clue how 
to start tracking that down.  Apsfilter 6.1.1, GS 5.50, Slackware 8.0, Kernel 
2.4.5, Epson Stylus Color 860 connected to /dev/lp0.  Any other info you
