I choose a random entry from my printcap ...
lp|hpijs_DJ9xx dpi=300x300 paper=a4 method=auto:\
:lp=/dev/lpt0:\
:if=/usr/local/etc/apsfilter/basedir/bin/apsfilter:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp:\
:lf=/var/spool/lpd/lp/log:\
:af=/var/spool/lpd/lp/acct:\
:mx#0:\
:sh:
I assume, that some paths in /etc/printcap aren't right.
Did you use apsfilters SETUP, to install printer queues ?
Since the last apsfilter SETUP scripts are "stable" and
SETUP takes care about spool dirs and permissions, I assume,
that you perhaps choosed the wrong output device.
Have especialle a look at what is defined as your output device
/etc/printcap: lp=/dev/xxx
This device must be present and useable.
Try to cat to the device directly
root# cat /etc/group > /dev/lpt0
Check this files permissions:
crw------- 1 root wheel 16, 0 5 Okt 20:53 /dev/lpt0
