Installing the new GS looks hard.  I am running debian's prepackaged GS.  a2ps is version 4.13.

I will try the install if you think it will work.  I was using magicfilter which was functional (except that it printed out a page of garbage before printing out the "good stuff" beforehand, which I thought also used GS?
