it did ! thank you very much. I was so stuck in looking for the right
apsfilter-option that I didn't think of that. looks like I should have
a deeper look into all the filter's manpages that apsfilter calls when I
print %-)

right - that would be an option. maybe I'll try those out once in a while.
but right now I'll stick with ap2s and your solution. thanks again.
