| PS files not recognised when printed from a mac |
Hi, I have just installed apsfilter 7.1.1 under FreeBSD 4.4-STABLE. Everything seems to work fine when printing locally but if I submit a job from my mac the printer prints the postscript source, not the actual image. The printer in question doesn't support PS natively but gs seems to work fine for local files (ie lpr blah.ps). The Mac in question is running OSX 10.1.2 and I created the printer as an "LPR printer using IP". If I print to a file, scp the file to FreeBSD and print it from there everything works OK. I've tried printing from under OS9 and get the same problem. I used rlpr to submit a job over the network from the FreeBSD box and it worked OK so it must be something to do with the way MacOS sends the jobs. Using tcpdump I have confirmed that the job does begin with %!PS. Anyone have any suggestions? I checked the FAQ but none of the solutions seemed to help. Thanks, Andrew
