Read apsfilter manpage how to report a bug by using
apsfilter -D. Read the "BUGS" section of aps2file or apsfilter
to read how to use it.

I assume, that gs perhaps fails because of incompatible commandline
options, but therefore we need the debugging output which appears
on stderr ...

The manpage also tells you how to redirect aps2file -D's debugging
output to a file, which you can attach to your mail to this list ...

So we have to see, what happens, if apsfilter runs using aps2file -D

Give FreeBSD a chance ;-)

Send the debug info and then lets see.
