That's the basic problem: once the drivers are written to
support a printer perfectly, its successor is already on the
market.

Otherwise you are forced to spend a couple of bucks to get
commercial drivers -- e.g. ESP Pro offers many drivers, thus
extending the surprisingly :) few drivers native to CUPS.
