I'll try that.

It recognizes apsfilter(a2ps)-generated PostScript in local jobs,
so I believe it would recognize apsfilter(a2ps)-generated PostScript
in remote jobs.

According to the printer's internal test page, it's set to
automatic recognition. Once I have figured out how to do that,
I'll change it to PS.

According to my logs, it's started here as well. I did some
testing for Garance, and got a 20 K log from four jobs, two
from each machine. There's only two a2ps invocations in there,
unsurprisingly both from the locally printed jobs.

I put the log file up at "http://www.chrullrich.de/lpd-log-1",
if you would like to see it.

Local connection via parallel port.
