| Re: scaling problems with 7.2.1 |
hi again, just an update on the scaling problems. I tried the gimp driver and the test print worked ok, but with much lower quality (300dpi). Printing with it did _not_ however, work. The print crashed with the stp driver not handling the "plain" option (for paper type): Plain is not a valid media type AFPL Ghostscript 7.03: Unrecoverable error, exit code 1 awk: cmd. line:1: (FILENAME=- FNR=3140) fatal: print to "standard output" failed (Broken pipe) The omni driver did not want to install even though SETUP could list it as one of the installed drivers. I just got into an endless loop of SETUP telling me the driver isn't there and then listing it again, but there are omni drivers installed: johnny:/home/shaun% ll /usr/local/share/apsfilter/driver/omni/HP* -r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 624 Dec 29 18:17 /usr/local/share/apsfilter/driver/omni/HP_Color_LaserJet -r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 546 Dec 29 18:17 /usr/local/share/apsfilter/driver/omni/HP_Color_LaserJet_4500 -r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 628 Dec 29 18:17 /usr/local/share/apsfilter/driver/omni/HP_Color_LaserJet_8500 -r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 583 Dec 29 18:17 /usr/local/share/apsfilter/driver/omni/HP_Color_LaserJet_8550 -r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 528 Jan 9 22:06 /usr/local/share/apsfilter/driver/omni/HP_LaserJet_1100 ... Ghostview also displays the pages with the correct scaling. Basically, I'm back at square one. Guess I'll study the cvs for a while and see if I can see what/where/how things have changed. Something is passing a scaling variable somewhere that is wrong. I have lots of logs but I can't see apsfilter complaining about any mistakes, except for the hostname issue. -- Yours truly, Shaun D.
