Hmmm.  Well, then a couple questions:

a.  If you can tell me where/how to get versions of apsfilter between
5.2.0 and 7.2.1, I would be perfectly happy to install and test one at
a time, to see at what point the problem I'm having first occurs with
the smallest set of changes in the package.

b.  When you say "perfect results", could you describe what you're getting
so that I can compare to what I observe in both cases (5.2.0 and 7.2.1)?
Maybe I too am getting perfect results, and just don't know that (though
I would say that what I am getting now isn't an nice-looking as what I
got before, with only the apsfilter version change and no change in a2ps).

c.  Could you tell me how to get a2ps 4.13b, since on the a2ps web page
there is no reference to it that I can find?
