Although the log file is slightly mangled (probably by
transmission), there's no evidence of ghostscript
crashing...

As the test page seemed to be printed correctly (while
being root during SETUP), maybe it has something to do
with restrictive permissions for the printing user --
under LPRng it's usually "daemon" or "lp". I have no
experience with nprint, maybe someone else can share
some thoughts on this.
