printcap question 

I am trying to set up a pcl printer (NEC superscript 870, local
parallel) on freebsd. I'm running the ./SETUP script, and have tried
several driver option (acording to the linuxprinting.org site, this
printer works with the ljet2p driver or gimp-print diver). Trouble is
that the print test page doesnet seem to do anything... and if I try
installing the driver, nothing gets written to /etc/printcap. 

Any ideas?
