printing to a samba share 

I have a problem printing to an smb share using apsfilter 7.2.2. I went
through the setup and the test page prints fine but printing from lpr
does not work. The print job shows up in the lpd print queue and then
disappears as if the print job completed but nothing is ever output to
the printer. I searched the archives and saw posts about this problem
but I could not find the answer. Any help appreciated.
