| printing postscript files on postscript printer |
Hi out there, I found a minor problem, which maybe is due to apsfilter (slackware 8.1rc2, v. 7.2.2. Printing a ps file from grace leads to a file nicely interpreted by gv. Sending it to a ps printer (in my case HP5, HP8000, HPColor4550) always causes an empty page to be printed. A correct printout is achieved if the printer mode is set to raw. We nailed down the problem (if it is true) to the line containing the \setpagedevice in the Duplex-feature included in the original file. I am not sure, whether the ps file from grace (http://plasma-gate.weizmann.ac.il/Grace; v5.18) is sick, because printing works from many other applications. I attach the file plus the additions made by apsfilter (starting from the line % Pagedevice definitions:, continuing to %%EndSetup. Cutting the line systemdict /setpagedevice get exec leads to a correct (?) visible output. I'm sorry, but the description of the problem did not really fit into the structure of the bug-reporting tool. If you think that the problem lies with the ps-file as created by grace, please send a short response, I will then contact them. Good luck and thanks for the very nice and reliable application.
