printing problems

Hi,

Im very new to linuxprinting and I have got some problems that I can't work
out. Im trying to print from my Slackware 8.1 machine to our windows network
using samba. When sending a file with smbclient to the windows printserver
the result looks pretty messy but at least it prints. Also, after going
through the apsfilter setup the testpage prints and looks very pretty. So, I
can connect and print to the the networked printer. However when i try to
print for example a webpage or textfile to the 'Xerox' printer (the name is
'Xerox' in /etc/printcap) nothing happens. Running the lpq command shows:
Printer: Xerox@wmli004439 'PS;r=600x600;q=high;c=full;p=a4;m=auto'
Queue: no printable jobs in queue
 Server: no server active
Status: job 'wmmglan@wmli004439+489' error 'aborting operations' at
11:58:45.693
Rank Owner/ID Class Job Files Size Time
error wmmglan@wmli004439+489 A 489 ERROR: aborting operations

I just wonder if you guys have any idea why the testpage prints and not any
other page, it doesn't even seem to get to the printer. I know that the login
information is correct otherwise the testpage wouldn't have printed.

Regards

Magnus
