apsfilter frustration

Hi,

  I've been a Slack user since 1994 and have never been able to 
get printing to work with any kernel using an HP Laserjet 5N or
LJ 3 (various types)
  Apsfilter installs, prints a nice test page and will indeed work
under Star Office 5.2 or Netscape Navigator except for one lousy 
thing.  The printed page has no top margin and cuts off the 
top line.  Here is a link to show what I mean:

I had dictated that in ViaVoice although if I type a note
in Star Office or print something off with Netscape or the 
Adobe PDF reader I get the same thing.

How in the heck do I get the danged page to center when
trying to print?  I've messed with a2ps files and such and
can't get it to work.  The printer does work under WinBlows.
In otherwords how do I get the page to setup properly.
