| Success! HP OJ 1170C, hpoj-0.90, and apsfilter-7.2.2 |
I finally figured out how to get the subject gizmos to work together, and now can use lpr to print both ps and ascii on my OfficeJet 1170C, via hpoj-0.90. Once I knuckled down and figured out how to do the custom driver script thing for apsfilter, the rest fell in line. Sorry for the earlier noise on this topic, only to solve it myself. Once fear was replaced by determination, I was able to triumph (at least it seems that way). If anyone is interested in the script I created under apsfilter to make this work, I'd be happy to send it (it's quite small). Also, one final request - since my script is probably both nasty and not very well featured (there's probably things I could put in it to better exploit the printer), I'd still like very much to hear from anyone who knows of the printer and how to make it function better under this regime - options I could add and so forth. thx! jbh
