Printing problems - only ascci

My printer only spids up the ascii format of every file I sent to it.
I have recently intall 'apsfilter' on my Debian Linux, and although the 
installation of my Epson stylus color 800 went smoothly, for some 
reason apsfilter only process the files as ascii, no filter is 
implemented.
Attached is a copy of my 'printcap', which by the way does not look 
right to me.

What other infomation can I provide so that you can help me resolve the 
printing problem?
