/dev/null is only valid, if you configure a Unix remote printer
or another network printer .... so to say when you don't need
a local output device.

One people reported, that he had permission problems,
because he had a very secure umask as root. Like you.
Then SETUP creates the files with exactly that permissions.

As a workaround I fixed this be setting a proper umask in
SETUP now.

So you should either fix your umask or simply use
apsfilter 7.2.4 !!!!!
