Trouble using apsfilter on a remote printer (WinNT4 running TCP/IP printing)

I have set up apsfilter successfully on my machine with the printer on
the parallel port.  However when I change the interface to point to a
remote queue on a WinNT4 server the printed output is rubbish (mainly
a lot of little rectangles, one per character).  I should add that I
am using the same printer on the WinNT4 server.  Can anybody give me
any pointers on what is happening, or perhaps not happening? ;-)
